Interview with Lennart Sorgenicht - Luxury Homes in India, Luxury Villa in Goa, House for Sale in Goa, Villas for Sale in Goa and Villa for Rent in North Goa


Lennart Sorgenicht, better known as Lenny, has spent a considerable amount of time with Isprava and works with the company to improve their systems and processes with a focus on HR. Originally from Hagen in Germany, Lenny is part of a scholarship program from the Ruhr-University Bochum in Germany which allows him to travel and work with other organizations, like Isprava. We chatted with Lenny to learn more about his experience with Isprava and India!



What made you realise that Isprava was different?
When I came and worked here the first time I realized pretty soon, that this company was different than any other company I had worked for before. It was just a different energy and everyone was into this one thing 110%. We worked hard, but at the same time we had a lot of fun. The intrinsic motivation was just a different one, because I really felt part of this.

What is your role here?
I work in Operations, but also work different projects with Human Resources.

What is your favourite part of your role?
Being able to have a real impact and making this company an even better place to work than it already is.

Tell us a little bit about the culture at the office?
Here you can have a real impact. People are working pretty hard to make their product the best out there, but at the same time you have a family atmosphere, where the CEO sits at the same table as everyone else. Everyone can participate here, so it’s pretty amazing!

What was your first experience working in India like, what did you expect and what did you get?
To be honest, when I started working in India I did not really have many expectations. I just wanted to try something new. Retrospectively, it could not have been better. At the end, I got more than I ever expected and really learned a lot! That’s why I come back whenever I can.

What is the holiday culture like in Germany vs. India? Do people have second homes in Germany as well?
In Germany, most people try to go away on their holidays whenever they can. Since our weather is not the greatest, people obviously want to get some sun somewhere else, and in Europe everything is quite close. I think the difference is, that in India you have a lot of opportunities to travel within India itself. We don’t have a place like Goa e.g., with beautiful beaches and great weather in Germany. People do have second homes, but again most of them are outside of Germany.

What do you think about the luxury space in India? Coming from a place where it's fully developed, what do you see happening here?
I think the luxury that you can get in India is unlike everything I have seen before. The best example for that is actually Isprava. As a house owner you get service 24/7, 365 days a year that takes care of whatever you need. In Germany for example, this would be very difficult to get, and to be honest I had never heard about something like this there.

What is the first thing you do in the morning?
Coffee!

What are three things we will find on your desk?
A cup of coffee, my laptop and a book where I keep notes.

Vintage or modern?
A mix of both.

Favourite vacation spot?
In India, Goa of course! Internationally I have to say Cap Ferret in France!

A celebrity you would like to have a drink with?
Michael Jordan.

If you could have a holiday home anywhere, where would it be?
Again, within India definitely Goa, but because I’m from Europe, I have to say France again.

One thing you miss about Germany?
Bread.

One thing you miss about India?
The energy of this country.

Favourite tv character?
